A unique instrument in the world, the historic Mathias van den Gheyn carillon from 1774 can be heard at the collegiate church since 2014. Visitors can climb the tower and discover, with a guide specialized in the art of bell ringing, a history and an adventure that has gone through the French Revolution of 1789, the wars and more than two and a half centuries of ups and downs.
50 bells resound and sing brass tunes, in ritornellos or under the agile hands of seasoned carillonneurs.
